Okay, so by trian is going to cost somewhere around $437.00 for each person to take the train up and back to Maine
if that is our destination in March. That price is from Ft. Lauderdale and is subject to change - of course. We might be able to find some awesome discount and AAA gives a slight discount too (slight being $13 a person weee....). It would cost about $600 TOTAL for the trip if you include exaggerated prices for a week of food (bought from the grocery store) one possible nice meal in NYC/Boston, the cost of a cheap hotel in Boston for two nights (no other way), any taxi costs, and a small souvineer. I may have slightly exaggerated, but $160 isn't much to travel on for a week unless you're REALLY careful. We could manage going cheaper (in expenses area, not tickets), but we'll have to watch our step. I'm going to check on the likelyhood of renting a car. I HIGHLY doubt we'll be able to and besides, it would be ANNOYING and would take longer.
But we could always fly. I'm finding tickets that are $300 roundtrip. Again, that's from Ft. Lauderdale and travel times are up in the air and we don't have much of a choice of airlines, but it could work. Flying isn't as interesting, but I betcha we could get by with $100 for the week if we tried. Anyway, let me know if you have any better ideas.
On to Jack: Peter, you don't know him, but be glad. He's a guy Kat, Brian, and I know from various points of life, all culminating in one year in AP Music theory together. Now, he goes to FSC with me and that's all fine and dandy. BUT he's not quite the person I'd like to be constantly around. I dont' trust him and I don't want him around when I don't know it, etc. But I'm fine correcting his essays because its good practice for me and I really have no problem with that. But today, he blatantly asks me to go get ice cream with him. YES he knows Brian and I are dating. YES he knows I'm absolutely crazy about Brian. WHAT is going through his head??!!!?? Jack didn't know that I was on the phone with Brian when he asked (Jack and I were IM-ing about his paper), but Brian sure heard my reaction to Jack's question. Now Brian wants to kill Jack (nice reaction to something I prefer never happened...before it's always been, "kill them yourself". The gruff irritation was comforting...just another sign that he cares). I don't blame Brian either. I want to beat him myself. But we'll both use polite restraint and only verbally lash him when necessary. And by the way, I said "NO WAY IN HELL."
Ybor: If you haven't heard of it, you don't know anything about Tampa. It's the underworld of Florida. Yeah, everyone talks about SoBe because it's so hot and sexy. Ybor City is just plain...well...it's the underworld. It's got corners that are hot and sexy and trendy. It's got corners that are dark and sexy and risque. It's got corners that are dark and scary and risky. It's got corners that I can't even begin to imagine surviving should I happen to stupidly wander in. One of the hot, sexy, trendy corners happens to be Coyote Ugly. It's a great bar (so I hear) with awesome dancing and awesome music and its parking garage is well lit and VERY close to the club. Nice. So Lauren wants to go. The idea was to go tomorrow, but that's out. Maybe in a few weeks though. PERSONALLY, I'm wabbling. Do I go, prove to the world that I can handle being independent? Do I stay home, avoid taking the risk of getting separated in the massive crowds, getting stolen, raped, and hurt like my mom's always feared? She'll let me go. She said she would. SHE wouldn't go, but then, that's my mom. I don't know what to do. It's the only thing TO DO on the weekends besides burry yourself in unessicary homework. Whaddya think??
And last but not least, today was my first day in the writing labs! YAY! It's cool. I only get to work 11 hours a week, and for minimum wage, but I'll have a blast. I corrected a very good paper today - there were errors, but nothing horrible. The girl was Nigerian and the only mistakes she made were problems cropping up b/c she's not a native speaker. I like it there. I like my job. I like my school. I miss you all!!! Lemme know about the Maine thing though k? Luv you both!!!
